The Second Supervisor is an ethical support platform. These principles govern everything we do.
Your thesis, dissertation, proposal, assignment, or journal article must be your own work. The Second Supervisor exists to help you think, structure, write, and defend — never to do the work for you. By using this platform, you agree to uphold these standards.
I understand that The Second Supervisor will not write my thesis, dissertation, proposal, assignment, or journal article. All written work submitted under my name must be authored by me.
I will not use this platform to fabricate, manipulate, or misrepresent research data, results, or findings. All data presented in my research must be genuinely collected and accurately reported.
I will not use this platform to generate false citations, fake sources, or non-existent references. All references in my work must correspond to real, verifiable publications.
I will not ask The Second Supervisor to impersonate me in any assessment, defence, viva voce, interview, or examination. I will present my own work in all academic settings.
I acknowledge that I am solely responsible for the authorship, accuracy, and integrity of all work I submit in my postgraduate programme. The Second Supervisor provides guidance and support, but authorship remains mine.
I will use AI tools — including the Ethical AI Prompt Bank — only for brainstorming, structuring, outlining, and revision support. I will not use AI to generate text that I present as my own writing. All AI-assisted work will be disclosed where required by my institution.
I understand that The Second Supervisor does not replace my official university supervisor. I will continue to follow my institution's supervision requirements and policies. The Second Supervisor supplements — not substitutes — my official supervision.
Any attempt to use The Second Supervisor for ghostwriting, data fabrication, reference fabrication, impersonation, or other academic misconduct will result in immediate account suspension without refund. We reserve the right to report violations to relevant academic institutions.
When you create your Student Profile, you will be asked to confirm that you have read and agree to these integrity principles. This declaration is recorded and must be completed before accessing the platform's tools.
